    What can you expect from the role?

    NKT provides a global work setting with high exposure to top management stakeholders. You will work in an experienced financial team consisting of project cost controllers. As a Project Controller you are a fundamental and crucial member to the project team.

    As the Champlain Hudson Power Express Project Controller, you will handle a significant amount of money. You will have the responsibility to manage the financial obligations towards our client, curtail financial risk exposure, financial forecasting, calculating business cases, build and present relevant financial analyses to your project team and company management. Your responsibilities will also contain:  

    • Responsible for the day to day financial operation for the project.
    • Serve as resource for other departments as needed.
    • Maintain and improve NKT relationship with internal and external clients.
    • Promote marketable awareness in the project team and provide commercial input for project execution plans
    • Offer input to the Project Execution Plan on financial aspects.
    • Help identify financial opportunity and risk with the project or tendering team
    • Monitor and manage project cash flow and currency risk and tax liabilities.
    • Accountable to abide to corporate governance, honesty, assurance, internal control, project contract, US finance laws and regulations.
    • Prepare monthly project reviews jointly with the Project Manager. Review and takes shared responsibility with the Project Manager for project cost reports including estimates to complete and project schedule.


    What do we expect from the candidate?

    A candidate with a financial mindset and the ability to teach financial impact to other departments stakeholders. As the Project Controller, you should be disciplined, have a pro-active attitude, strong ownership and accountability for all project related details. Additionally, your background should include:

     Business mindset, team player, focus on understanding the underlying business aspects of the financial information you work with.  

    • Bachelor’s degree Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 5 years of experience in project business.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
    • Robust understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards of United States (IFRS)
    • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and other Office programs
    • Preferable experience in SAP or similar ERP system
    • Detailed and high level of accuracy and analytical skills
    • Ability to handle a wide range and different level of stakeholders, supporting them from a financial side, yet being able to challenge the business side. 
    • You must be eligible to work in the United States for this role.
    • Strong English language skills, both verbal and written
    • Eligible to work in the United States
