Start the year as NKT’s Operations Manager in Service & Installation North America!

Do you thrive in a energetic service environment supporting customers with timely project execution?  If so, you might be our next NKTConnector! We are looking for a committed and energetic individual with strong business acumen to join our expanding company as Operations Manager in Cary, NC.

In this role, you will develop and lead the NA Service organization (organizational setup, staffing, operational footprint, facilities, tooling, etc.) with strong focus on operations & project execution. You will secure profitability in execution according to business plan project margin. You are expected to drive and grow tactical & strategic improvement initiatives (later phase). The chosen candidate is keen on working closely with a broad range of stakeholders internally and externally.

Your core responsibilities are:

• Build and develop local operational organization:
  • Define and implement organizational setup, incl. hiring staff
  • Define and implement operational footprint, incl. securing storage facility, tools, equipment and jointing containers
  • Implement processes and standardized methods
  • Develop structured way of working
• Lead local operational organization
  • Secure QHSE performance in projects
  • Secure profitability
  • Secure & plan resources
  • Manage project governance – executional and financial
  • Set measurable goals for organization
  • Improve and develop executional performance
  • Manage local site communications towards organization
  • Local company union representative
  • Local company IMS representative
• Manage key projects, particularly in start-up phase:
  • Manage customer communication
  • Participate in customer meetings
  • Ensure proper contracting
  • Plan resources
  • Ensure project execution

Independent and natural leader with flexible leadership style

We are looking for a reliable and performance-oriented candidate with a strategic approach to department agenda with hands on attitude. Previous experience managing leader in both an office setting and field environment. You are able to build harmony and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.

To succeed in the role, you must have the ability to embrace new and challenging tasks, adjust to fast-paced and changing working environments without compromising on deliverables.  

Additionally, your CV includes: 

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering, Business or Management and/or long experience within the industry. Master or MBA a plus
• Project manager and business case experience
• Structure and detail-orientated
• Interpersonal skills, empathy, and a team player mindset
• English language skills, spoken and written
• Experienced MS Office and/or SAP
