VP Production Technology & Maintenance

Are you an experienced production professional with solid leadership experience or have been working with leadership in a similar role and are looking for an opportunity to grow in a sustainable, green-oriented environment? We are now looking for a new Vice President, Head of Production Technology & Maintenance, in our High Voltage Solutions Karlskrona business line in Karlskrona, Sweden.

Opportunity to lead and further develop Production & Maintenance at NKT.

In this role as Head of Production Technology and Maintenance you will be responsible for development of machineries and processes in and around production. You will support and lead production technicians, through your managers,  in production development and improvement, as well as product quality & occupational safety within the disciplines of maintenance, automation, machine safety, mechanical and electrical engineering. You will also be responsible for production investments to meet the future production standards and demands.

You will ensure that goals for the department are developed and followed. You will oversee large investment projects and see to that investment budgets are drawn up and followed. In addition, you will monitor the technical development regarding cable manufacturing in the areas of production equipment, production, process, maintenance and work environment technology. You will also drive NKT Karlskrona’s energy efficiency projects.

Besides the above the primary tasks will be:

• To lead and support production leaders in production and process development
• To lead the technical development & improvement for future cable manufacturing  with secured product quality & occupational safety.
• Secure QHSE performance in projects
• Be a part of the High Voltage Solutions Karlskrona management team overseeing and leading the global business line.
• Work closely with Production Operations organization and leadership to deliver on time, budget and quality towards our High Voltage Cable system projects.
• Operational planning and coordination of work connecting into Production Operations meaning shift organization.

You have several years of experience of the industry where leadership has played a great part in your previous positions. You have a good experience in preparing and implementing projects. Your eye for detail and strong analytical ability both come in handy when you carry out thorough follow-ups, with continuous improvement in mind for both commercial and technical aspects. As a person, you must be driven by problem solving and be able to analyze situations and contexts to predict problems. You will need to understand and form the business strategies and priorities, and be part of applying your knowledge and by that be part of developing effective, sensible and feasible solutions to problems in the business. Your strategic methods provide your team with a solid foundation for their work.

In order to succeed and thrive in this role, you need to be flexible and able to adapt to market shifts and varying work rate. As person, you need to be a strong communicator and responsive. You appreciate variety in your workday and draw motivation from delivering quality and results even in unexpected situations – with decisiveness and communication as your main tools.

You encourage creative problem solving and bring both energy and drive to strengthen your team. Besides excellent leadership skills and a strong managerial experience the ideal candidate has a successful track record of building a strong production organization in a fast growing environment.

In addition to the above the ideal candidate’s background should include: 

• Relevant education such as MSc in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Economics/Marine Technology, or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in a Senior leadership role or equivalent.
• Fluency in Swedish and English

The position is placed in Karlskrona where also the team is located and majority of operations. Travel occurs occasionally as part of this role.

The role will be a part of our HV Solutions Karlskrona business line management team and formally reporting to our Executive Vice President, Head of HV Solutions Karlskrona.
