Senior Tender Design Engineer

Working closely with our international customers, we develop, manufacture, and install efficient, environmentally friendly, and technologically advanced high-voltage cables, (HVC), for land and offshore applications worldwide.

Our site in Chennai , India is expanding heavily and now we are looking for a skilled Senior Tender Design engineer to strengthen the team. In this role you will be working in a tender design team with responsibility to complete ownership of the technical scope in tenders and support lead engineer with calculations and documentation.

Your main responsibility will be to create and update tender design for upcoming cable system projects.

On a daily business this is what the role includes:

• Ensure compliance of NKT’s cable system with internal requirements, international standards and Client requirements
• Maintain alignment between technical proposal and tender strategy
• Take ownership of assigned technical scop
• Follow established Engineering processes
• Follow established Engineering design premises

Growth factors in this position are creativity and being able to handle a large amount of information. You will need to be practical and structured with an ability to take own decisions which would be crucial for your growth. To operate in a diverse and international environment stimulates you.

Additionally, your CV includes:

• 15-20 years’ experience with HV cable system design (Experience in submarine cables is a plus)
• 15-20 years’ experience with thermal/electrical calculations
• 15-20 years’ experience in compiling tender documentation
• 15-20 years of working experience in remote teams
• Experience with team management /mentorship

• Experience in COMSOL / FEM Simulation
• Preferably CYMCAP / any other cable design software
• MATLAB
• Fluency in spoken and written English
