Compliance Officer
International compliance role driving the green agenda
NKT is looking for an experienced compliance role with a focus on data privacy, internal audit and a commercial perspective. Based in Czech Republic as part of our Risk & Compliance team, your focus is to develop and operate the Data Privacy Compliance Program and Internal Compliance Audit Program across the entire NKT Group.
The position
Your overall goal is to help strengthen NKT’s Compliance Program by developing and driving our internal data privacy compliance program and our internal compliance audit program across the entire NKT Group. With data privacy, you are responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining our data privacy compliance program on a day-to-day basis to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. Additionally, you will develop and drive our internal compliance audit program conducting regular audits across the NKT Group to assess the level of compliance with policies and processes of the Compliance Program. As part of these responsibilities, you will be engaging all key business lines and functions.
Your tasks include:
• Develop, drive and maintain the global data privacy program incl. policies and procedures.
• Training and awareness activities across the business to support a strong compliance culture.
• Support the business with day to day questions and issues related to data privacy and other related compliance topics.
• Develop the internal compliance audit program and coordinate and conduct audits of internal financial, legal and operational processes relevant for the Compliance Program.
• Prepare and present audit findings, identify mitigation measures and track and monitor implementation of audit recommendations.
• Engage and collaborate with the Risk & Compliance team to continuously improve our internal processes and NKT’s compliance activities.
• Stakeholder management.
• Project management.
• Engagement of external lawyers.
• You should expect up to 10-20 travel days a year.
Your background
You bring a master’s degree, preferably in Law, Business, or related field. You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience from working in a law firm, or a big-sized international company.
In addition, we also expect:
• Experience in reporting, presenting and communicating with senior stakeholders.
• Experience with data privacy, incl. GDPR, and with audit activities.
• Strong project management skills and ability to effectively plan and run multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with a focus on execution.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters in a simple and understandable manner to stakeholders at all levels and with different backgrounds.
• Able to collaborate and create strategic working relationships across professional, cultural and geographical borders.
• Flexibility, open-mindedness and adaptability when working in a rapidly changing environment.
• Business acumen: establish and maintain a trustworthy relation to your stakeholders across the business lines and functions and understand the commercial and technical context of their operation.
• You like to work independently while at the same time you are a team player.
You must be fluent in Czech and English. Having worked internationally and having command of additional languages is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
You will be based in Kladno, Czech Republic, with the option to work from home for 1-2 days a week. You will report to the Head of Risk & Compliance, who is based in Denmark.
