We take our environmental responsibility seriously

At NKT, we do everything in our power to minimise the amount of raw material that we waste. Not only do we recycle our own cable scrap, but we also recycle the cable scrap of our customers- and we’ve been doing so for over 50 years.

We know that, as a business, we have a responsibility to protect the world around us and, by cutting down on waste, we can reduce raw material usage. It’s good for the Earth and it’s good for business.

That's why NKT is one of the few cable manufacturers operating a recycling programme throughout our cable range. Our Stenlille-based recycling plant recycles a whopping 97% percent of the cable scrap it processes.

The cables are broken down into their elements (plastic, insulation and metals) which are then sorted, processed and rebuilt into new products for the cabling industry.

How NKT can help your business

If your business has a cable waste problem, then NKT wants to help you dispose of it in an eco-friendly way, that even your accountants will love.

The system is simple:

• We deliver an empty container to your business address - free of charge.
• When the container is full, we collect it and give you a new container, within 14 days - again, this is free of charge.
• We work out the scrap value of the waste and your account will be credited with that value, minus our costs.

The benefits of using NKT:

• There are no up front charges, so you don’t have a monthly bill to worry about.
• We take all types of XLPE cables, so you aren’t wasting time sorting them.
• We take every opportunity to recover the metal and plastic materials, so we don’t produce a lot of waste.
• Reduces your business’ carbon footprint, which is good for the planet and something that consumers value.
• Your only commitment is letting us know when the container is full.
