NKT has won the order for the turnkey high-voltage cable project for the Moray East offshore wind farm there is to be located off the North-East coast of Scotland.

NKT is to design, manufacture and install the 175 km 220 kV AC offshore export cables to the Moray East offshore wind farm project in UK there will provide renewable energy to one million UK households when fully operational in 2021.
The company can confirm the order after the contract was signed with the project developer, MOWEL, Moray East Offshore Windfarm Ltd, owned by EDP Renováveis S.A., ENGIE and Diamond Generating Europe Ltd.
The order comprises of approx. 175 km of 220 kV AC offshore export cables and installation by the NKT Victoria cable-laying vessel and burial of the cables. The order represents a contract value for NKT of approx. EUR 150m. Installation of the cables is expected to commence in 2020.
