We are looking for a senior financial professional with proven experience in general and analytical accounting, financial reporting, and internal control. You bring a strong track record in monthly and annual closings, audit support, and compliance with IFRS and local standards. Proficiency in ERP systems, especially SAP, and advanced Excel skills are essential.

Ensure accounting excellence and compliance

As Accounting Manager, you will lead a team of skilled professionals and oversee all general and analytical accounting processes. You will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. You will also support internal and external audits, maintain budget control, and drive continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating accounting operations and financial closings
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS and SNC
  • Managing internal and external audit processes
  • Overseeing budget control and financial analysis
  • Coaching, developing, and mentoring your accounting team

You will report directly to the Finance Director and work closely with cross-functional teams. The position is based in Esposende, Portugal.

Strategic mindset with strong leadership and compliance focus

You are a structured, motivated leader with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments. You thrive under pressure, communicate clearly, and lead with confidence. You also have:

  • University degree in Accounting, Management, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and SNC standards
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP FI/CO and Microsoft Excel
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
  • Certified Accountant (TOC/CC) or SAP certification (preferred)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
