As a Sustainability Specialist in Group Procurement, you will contribute directly to our corporate sustainability goals by implementing ESG programs, enabling supplier engagement, and supporting Scope 3 decarbonization initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Group Sustainability, Procurement, and supplier partners to implement effective processes and ensure compliance with evolving sustainability regulations. Manage sustainability initiatives across the supplier value chain

ESG maturity, data validation and supplier engagement

In this role, you will support procurement strategy execution through sustainability project leadership, supplier ESG assessments, and Scope 3 emissions data validation. You will contribute to developing processes that create transparency, enable fact‑based decision‑making, and enhance sustainable material choices. Your focus will be on analyzing supplier performance, managing ESG risk mitigation activities, and preparing internal and external sustainability reports.

Your responsibility will be to:

• Lead Scope 3 decarbonization projects and validate supplier ESG data

• Conduct supplier maturity assessments and recommend engagement actions

• Support risk assessments, dashboards and mitigation follow-up

• Enable transparency on environmental and cost impacts of material alternatives

• Prepare sustainability communication, trainings and reporting materials

You will be based in Chennai, working closely with Group Procurement and Group Sustainability. Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.

You are a person who thrives in a collaborative, global environment and enjoys turning complex sustainability requirements into actionable improvements. You bring a structured mindset, allowing you to navigate ESG data, identify inconsistencies, and constructively challenge them. Your communication skills help you engage effectively with internal teams and suppliers. You manage multiple tasks simultaneously, approach problem‑solving with curiosity, and stay focused on delivering meaningful, measurable outcomes.

You also have:

  • A university degree in Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • 5+ years of sustainability experience in procurement, supply chain, engineering or manufacturing
  • Knowledge of ESG regulations and reporting requirements
  • Experience with project management tools and MS Office
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Exposure to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) or Scope 3 methodologies
