Subsea Cable Installation Project Engineer

NKT is currently expanding our offshore engineering team and offers a unique opportunity to join one of the leading suppliers of the largest and most complex submarine cable projects worldwide.

The engineers are deployed in project teams that are responsible for the preparation of complex projects from start to finish together with other departments and functions across NKT business.
The position is based out of UK or the Netherlands.

Your contribution
You will be working with internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors. 
In this role you will be working as part of a project team where you will be responsible for developing and planning certain parts of the offshore cable installation scope. In the team you as an experienced project engineer are expected to support other more junior colleagues. 
Development of installation concepts & methods and delivering relevant procedures & other technical documentation for the scope are some of the main tasks. You will work with subcontractors on certain scopes, evaluate their technical solutions before contract and working together with them post contract, making sure the project requirements are being met. 

As an offshore project engineer within NKT you work close with NKT’s marine operations team in all stages of a project. You will follow your project offshore and execute the scope together with the marine operation team on NKT vessels. Persons who have limited possibilities to go offshore due to private considerations can also be considered for this position.

Who are you?

NKT are looking for a motivated person that can take ownership of their work and deliver a high-quality result according to agreed deadlines.

•    An engineering degree with +3 years’ experience from offshore cable installation projects or  other relevant offshore construction projects
•    Full understanding of the requirements and associated risks involved when working with offshore construction projects
•    Experience from acting as a project or a field engineer on construction vessels
•    Willing to lead and guide less senior colleagues
•    Hands-on mindset 
•    Proficiency in English is required, as are excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Experience from cable installation, barges, trenching and/or installation of flexibles/SURF is considered beneficial.
