Senior Manager, Digital Core - SAP

Build and manage a top-tier SAP competence center in Chennai, India

As Senior Manager, Digital Core, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading a new SAP Competence Center in Chennai—directly contributing to our global digital strategy. This is a rare opportunity to combine direct SAP ownership with strategic leadership, guiding a growing team and enabling our digital core to scale sustainably for the future. You will collaborate across global functions, advise on business-critical SAP decisions, and deliver solutions that support NKT’s continued growth. You will be responsible for recruitment, governance, delivery frameworks, service models, and functional oversight across SAP modules. Your work will ensure the center is scalable, standardized, and aligned with NKT’s global SAP S/4HANA roadmap.

Your responsibility will be to:

• Own and execute the complete launch plan for the SAP Competence Center, covering governance, operating models, delivery setup, and budgets
• Manage multi-phase hiring for leaders, module experts, and delivery resources
• Provide functional SAP leadership, ensuring fit-for-purpose and maintainable SAP solutions
• Oversee delivery governance, quality management, change control, and vendor management
• Build an effective team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

You will collaborate closely with global process owners, IT architects, business line leaders, and external vendors. The position is located in Chennai, India, with travel expected up to 10–20 days per year.

You bring communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to build consensus among stakeholders across a global matrix organization. You are experienced in creating clarity, developing people, and enabling impactful decisions. Your leadership style is inclusive, supportive, and focused on long-term capability building.

You also have:

• 12+ years in SAP functional or delivery roles and 5+ years in people leadership
• Experience establishing or scaling a delivery center or competence center
• Solid SAP module knowledge and experience with end-to-end delivery lifecycle

• Experience working in global, multicultural product-based environments
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders across the US / Western Europe

• English proficiency at a professional working level
