SAP MDG - Senior Consultant

As SAP MDG – Senior Consultant, you will support, configure, and optimize embedded SAP MDG in S/4HANA to enable efficient, compliant, and automated master data processes across Material, Business Partner, and Finance domains. You will collaborate with experienced colleagues across Europe, contribute to a SAP platform, and gain exposure to IS‑Mill functionality, global business processes, and the latest SAP technologies. Design, configure and optimize SAP MDG

You will translate business and regulatory needs into scalable SAP MDG solutions, ensuring high‑quality master data processes and seamless integration with source and target systems. You will design data models, workflows, validations, and UI enhancements; enable integrations with S/4HANA, ECC, and third‑party systems; and oversee data migration, cleansing, and harmonization. You will facilitate workshops, document solutions, support testing (unit, integration, UAT), and provide audit‑ready configurations and reports. Working closely with SAP Basis, ABAP, SD, MM, and enterprise architects, you will secure reliable operations and continuous improvements aligned with governance standards and compliance requirements.

Your responsibility will be to:
•    Analyze and translate business requirements into SAP MDG configurations and process designs.
•    Configure MDG‑M, MDG‑BP, and MDG‑F with data models, workflows, validations, and UI enhancements.
•    Integrate SAP MDG with S/4HANA, ECC, and third‑party systems; support migrations and harmonization.
•    Troubleshoot production issues, manage error logs and IDocs, and support audits with system reports.
•    Plan and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; prepare documentation and training.

Based in G3C Chennai within Group IT, reporting to the Senior Manager – IT. You will collaborate with global process owners and cross‑functional teams; international travel for trainings and knowledge transfer may occur.

You also have:
•    8+ years of SAP experience with 4+ years focused on SAP MDG and 2–3 end‑to‑end MDG implementations.
•    MDG data modeling and governance frameworks, workflow configuration, validations, and UI enhancements.
•    Extensive integration experience with SAP S/4HANA and ECC across MDG‑M, MDG‑BP, and MDG‑F domains.
•    Practical experience with data migration tools and methodologies, including cleansing and harmonization.
•    Proficiency in diagnosing SAP error logs and IDoc processing; agile practices, change management, and documentation standards.
•    Experience working with global, cross-cultural teams supporting multi-geographic SAP rollouts.
