Technical cable system design for tender processes

The Trainee Design Engineer plays a key role in supporting the commercial organisation by managing the technical scope of tenders and ensuring alignment with internal requirements and client expectations. This position offers the opportunity to work with cable system design, calculations and documentation within a global organisation contributing to the green transition. Contribute to technical tender processes and cable system design

In this role, you will take responsibility for assigned technical topics within tender projects and ensure alignment with tender strategy. You will analyse requirements, perform electrical, thermal calculations, and prepare documentation according to established engineering processes. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Tender Engineering, Commercial, Sales and other relevant departments to secure a coherent and accurate technical proposal.

Your responsibility will be to: 

• Analyse tender requirements and perform cable system design activities
• Perform thermal, electrical calculations
• Evaluate tender qualification needs and suggest tender qualification plans
• Collaborate with internal teams and present technical proposals to clients
• Compile tender documentation according to internal processes

This role collaborates with multiple departments across the organization. The position is based in Chennai.

You are a person who works in a structured way, enjoys analytical tasks and pays attention to detail. You communicate clearly, take responsibility for your work and feel comfortable collaborating with colleagues across functions and locations. You thrive in environments where technical problem-solving is part of daily work and where coordination across teams is essential.

You also have:

 • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

 • Exposure to cable system design is advantageous

 • Exposure to thermal/electrical calculations in High Voltage equipment is advantageous

 • Experience with Microsoft Office, Comsol, Matlab, AutoCAD is advantageous
