Evaluate testing feasibility for high voltage systems

Are you an experienced engineer in high-voltage testing looking to contribute to complex transmission projects? Join NKT as a Technical Feasibility Engineer and support testing activities during tender and execution phases. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with global testing teams, contribute to updated test methods, and support reliable power cable systems essential for electrification. Assess testing feasibility and support laboratory operations In this role, you will analyse Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) items and provide technical clearance during tendering and project execution. You will collaborate with testing teams to assess test hall capability, support development of new testing methods, and ensure alignment with updated standards. Working with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to structured planning, reporting, and continuous improvement within the testing function.

Your responsibility will be to:

• Analyse ITP items and evaluate testing feasibility during tender and execution phases

• Identify suitable test halls and support capacity mapping

• Support development and documentation of new testing methods

• Collaborate with tender, testing, and cross-functional teams on technical queries

• Capture testing requirements and support investment planning

You will work closely with the Transmission testing organisation and report to both functional and local managers. This role is based in Chennai, India, with occasional travel, including initial visits to Karlskrona, Sweden.

Experienced engineer with structured and collaborative approach You are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on accuracy. You communicate clearly and engage with colleagues across different levels of the organisation. You approach technical challenges with a practical mindset and contribute to team collaboration. You are actively identifying improvements and comfortable working in an international environment.

You also have:

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or High Voltage Engineering

• Around 12+ years of experience in high-voltage engineering and laboratory testing

• Experience in interpreting standards and developing test methods

• Experience working with testing teams or project environments

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel; SAP knowledge
