Senior Site Manager – Onshore Turn Key Projects (PC)

Location - North Scotland

Are you an experienced construction professional ready to lead major projects? We’re looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join our team and manage the completion of major HVDC cable installation projects in the north of Scotland from planning through to completion.

As a key member of our project leadership team, you’ll play a key role in coordinating site activities, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are met, and managing project timelines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Execution of Civil Engineering and Cable Installation works part of the overall execution Project.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and supervise on-site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
  • Liaise direct with Client Project management and site representatives, attend all project meetings.
  • Liaise with and lead meetings involving internal and external designers and local authroities.
  • Identify risks (including QHSE) and opportunities and conduct follow-up work and decide on actions to mitigate identified risks or realise opportunities.
  • Ensure that the work is performed according to Health & Safety and Environmental plans and regulations.
  • Responsible for installation/service, both qualitatively and quantitatively performed in the best possible way, taking into account the required time, resource and cost frames 
  • Report on project performance and provide updates to senior management

Additionally you will also need to:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Site Manager or similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and CDM regulations.
  • Well-developed leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have demonstrated experience in HVDC cable projects or large-scale linear civil installation projects
  • Degree or formal qualification (NVQ) in civil engineering, Project management, Construction Management or equivalent CSCS card and SMSTS certification.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing multiple stakeholders while maintaining a clear focus on safety, timelines, and budget.

What you will bring:

Prior experience with turn-key land cable installation projects, including civil works and cable installation responsibilities. Having outlined understanding of marine cable installations at the landfalls, as marine interconnectors will be part of project interface.
