Prepare fibre optic solutions for global projects

Are you experienced in fibre optic engineering and tender preparation? Join NKT as a Fiber Optic – Tender Specialist and contribute to developing fibre optic system solutions for high-voltage projects worldwide. This role offers the opportunity to work with international clients, suppliers, and technical teams, supporting growing demand in transmission solutions. Develop fibre optic designs and tender documentation In this role, you will prepare and manage fibre optic system solutions during the tender phase, ensuring alignment with client requirements and technical standards. You will analyse specifications, prepare design documentation, estimate costs, and coordinate with internal teams and suppliers. The role involves close interaction with stakeholders and continuous improvement of tender processes.

Your responsibility will be to:

• Analyse fibre optic requirements from tender documents and develop design solutions

• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and design reports

• Coordinate with internal teams during the tender phase

• Clarify requirements with clients and suppliers and gather quotations

• Support process improvements and incorporate new fibre optic technologies

You will collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, installation teams, and clients. The role is based in Chennai (G3C), with international travel for training and project-related activities.

Structured professional with structured and collaborative mindset You are organised and attentive to detail, with a clear and methodical approach to your work. You communicate effectively with stakeholders and are comfortable handling multiple tasks. You are responsible for your responsibilities and contribute positively to team collaboration. You are open to learning and interested in exploring new developments in fibre optic technology.

You also have:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Optical Engineering, or Physics

• 5–7 years of experience in tendering or project management

• Background in optical engineering and fibre optic systems

• Experience in preparing technical documentation and cost estimates

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of PLM tools
