Deliver nearshore cable installation engineering projects

Do you want to contribute to high voltage cable installation projects that support the green transition? As a Nearshore Project Engineer, you will play an important role in planning and executing engineering activities for nearshore installation projects, working with international teams and stakeholders across the project lifecycle. Plan and execute nearshore installation engineering activities

As a Nearshore Project Engineer, you will support and manage nearshore scopes throughout project lifecycles, including tender and FEED activities when required. The role involves developing engineering methods, schedules, and technical documentation for shallow-water cable installation operations. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure engineering activities are delivered efficiently and safely while supporting the development of nearshore installation capabilities.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Support and manage nearshore installation projects throughout their lifecycle
  • Plan engineering activities for dredging, PLGR, HDD, trenching and pull-in operations
  • Develop work methods, RFP documentation and project schedules
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients and subcontractors
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve nearshore installation capabilities

The position is based in Mumbai and reports to the Manager Installation, with a functional reporting line to the Director Nearshore Installation. International travel of approximately two weeks per year is expected for site visits, project meetings and team activities.

Engineering professional with collaborative project delivery approach

You are an organised and structured individual who enjoys working with multiple activities simultaneously. You communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and approach challenges with a positive and solution-oriented mindset. You are comfortable working in international environments and value teamwork, continuous learning and knowledge sharing to meet project objectives.

You also have:

  • BSc, BE, BTech or higher degree in Engineering, Civil or Mechanical
  • Experience in nearshore cable or pipeline installation projects
  • Experience with barge-based installation solutions
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and basic CAD tools
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Experience with OrcaFlex or similar engineering software

Thomas is an operator in production and pulls out 8 mm copper for wires that are wrapped around the cables. He enjoys the working hours where he can work long and concentrated and then have a longer period of time off.  He wants to make his own small mark on the green future.
