As an Operational Buyer at NKT, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth continuation of production by executing day‑to‑day procurement activities in alignment with our Category Strategy and Purchasing Policy. Execute best‑in‑class procurement in a dynamic environment
In this role, you will perform operational buying activities that secure timely, compliant and high‑quality procurement for all categories within your Business Unit. You will collaborate with end‑users, Category Teams, and key stakeholders while ensuring adherence to guidelines, sourcing tools, and purchasing governance. With a strong focus on cycle times, service quality, and process efficiency, you will help sustain production and maintain critical material flows to support NKT’s industrial environment.

Your responsibility will be to:
• Execute day‑to‑day procurement activities, ensuring on‑time delivery of materials and services
• Apply Category Handbooks to identify the best sourcing route and ensure compliance with purchasing policies
• Use eSourcing tools, prepare documentation, and communicate sourcing outcomes to end‑users
• Maintain strong information flows with Category Teams regarding non‑standard requests, escalations, and data needs
• Act as an expert in NKT Marketplace and SAP MM to support local teams and secure transactional excellence

You will report to the Supply Chain Manager and collaborate closely with the Director of Operative Procurement. The position is based in Esposende, with travel up to 20 days per year across European NKT plants and occasional supplier visits.

You are a structured, analytical and solution‑oriented person who thrives in a fast‑paced industrial environment. You communicate clearly, build constructive relationships, and demonstrate good judgment when handling multiple priorities. You enjoy working independently while being a committed team player who contributes to a One Team mindset across locations. With a confident yet approachable presence, you influence stakeholders effectively and maintain a high level of service in all interactions.

You also have:
• At least 3 years of experience in purchasing within an industrial environment
• Solid understanding of procurement, logistics or supply chain processes
• Knowledge of Incoterms and experience with negotiations
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, and English at minimum B2 level
• (Preferred) Experience with SAP
