Kablar enligt denna standard är avsedda för fast förläggning, samt i rör eller kanal. Kablarna kan förläggas inom- och utomhus, dock ej i vatten. Beakta dock att kabelns livslängd minskar vid långvarig exponering av UV-ljus. Ledarisoleringen skall skyddas mot direkt UV-ljus, som kan uppkomma i t ex ljusarmaturer och ljusskyltar. Vid förläggning i mark skall kabeln förses med extra skydd mot mekaniska påkänningar.
